At first, Jesus “…called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” Then he appointed another seventy disciples and sent them out into every town to “Heal the sick in it and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.'” Today he says to us “As the Father has sent me so I send you" (Luk 9:1-2, 10:9; Joh 20:21).
